There are a lot of Zombie Apocalypse audiobooks on the market now, and most of them don’t really explain where the zombies came from; if they do, the explanations are sketchy and unrealistic.
This audiobook avoids that pitfall, because the origin and nature of the contagious “zombie” illness are described realistically. In fact, the origin of the zombie virus is so realistic that that part of the audiobook is unsettling, scary and always worth listening.
This is absolutely the best zombie audiobook series ever. It sets up the ZOMA very well, the virus itself is ingeniously constructed, and the rollout of the collapse works well. It is an excellent story about a rather unusual family and how they first avoid, then combat the spreading plague that turns intelligent human beings into raving animals. Many parts evoked laughter, while many others brought on tears. With such diverse emotions, this story promises to bring you to many levels of emotions when listening.
Ringo does not stint on the action scenes and as usual, he is very inventive when it comes to devising weapons systems and TTPs for attacking the enemy, in this case zombies. It is a rollicking good read and at just over 350 pages a decent length. If you like combat fiction, you will love the Under a Graveyard Sky audiobook as well.
